Affordability Checks

Introduction

From time to time, and to allow us to comply with regulatory requirements, all betting and gaming operators may ask you for further information regarding the funds you use to bet with.

Why do Lottoland ask for further information?

Lottoland are required to take steps to help ensure that gambling is fair and open, not linked to crime, and does not lead to harm.

Part of this includes collecting customer information to allow verification of your source of funds.

This means that Lottoland, just as banks do, may at times need to ask you for further information. We do this to establish that you have sufficient funds to support your gambling activity with us.

There is a clear requirement from our regulators, and so we must ask, for this type of information.

How will Lottoland use my information?

The information provided to us will be treated in the strictest confidence in line with our privacy policy and will not be used for any other purpose than fulfilling our regulatory and legal obligations.

What do I need to provide to Lottoland if I am asked to verify my affordability?

If you are asked for information around affordability, please provide as much evidence as possible to show that you have sufficient funds to support your gambling activity. Whilst we need to be comfortable that you can afford your most recent losses, we also need to understand how you intend to fund your account moving forward. So when you are requested to provide such information we would encourage you to submit as much evidence as possible as this will limit any further requests from us, and any further inconvenience for you.

Contact and Process

All customers that we require evidence of affordability from will initially be emailed, but we may ask for a time and date that is convenient for you to be contacted by our team. Every effort will also be made by the team, via all permissible methods, to make contact with customers in order to discuss this in more detail.

What will happen if I do not provide the requested information to Lottoland?

Lottoland will normally ask for information to be given by a certain time. Unfortunately, further business may not be accepted if the requested information is not provided, and a temporary account suspension may be applied. This would then restrict access to your account and the placing of your future bets.

We greatly value our customers and will gladly reconsider this position if satisfactory information is provided at any point in the future.
